AAAEA TRI-STATE MISSION AND BRIEF HISTORY

In Jan 20th 2006, a group of Arab American Engineer, Architects and Its gathered in response to a request by the Co-founders of the Associations; Maher Abdelqader, Fuad Issa and Ayman Alzibak, to discuss the need for an organization to serve interests of Arab American Engineers Architects and Its in the tri-state area and replicate Chicago experience which was established in the year of 1996.  After a year of planning, they convened more than thirty three (33) engineers, architects and ITs to elect the first executive board for the newly founded Arab-American Association of Engineers and Architects (AAAEA).  Shortly after, the association was registered with the State of NJ as a non-profit professional organization.  Recently, (in summer of 2013, AAAEA Tri-State was approved by the IRS as a non for profit tax exempt Association).

Seven years later, Tri-State (CT, NJ and NY) Continues to elect Steering Committee on bi-annual basis, established weekly or a monthly communication with its members, updates its website, contributes to the national newsletter, hold several social and technical functions on yearly basis and continue to work tirelessly on promoting the mission of the organization and help members get jobs and reward students via its scholarship program.  On Nov 8th 2006, Tristate held its first elections were it elected the President, Vice President and public relations position and today it holds its 7th annual conference / gala.

Mission Statement

AAAEA is professional organization dedicated to helping its members succeed in their professions by networking among each other through social and technical activities and by conducting continuing education seminars and workshops. It is a not for profit, non-political and non-religious organization open to all architects, engineers and computer science professionals.

Goals

• Promote cooperation and mutual assistance among the members.

• Conduct academic review courses and technical seminars to update members’ knowledge on the latest technologies and regulations.

• Establish scholarship programs to encourage qualified and talented students to pursue engineering field studies.

• Cooperate with other professional organizations.

• Connect new graduates with potential employers

• Establish a presence in the Tri-State (NY, NJ and CT).

 

• Serve the professional interest of the general membership and strive to promote professional consciousness and fellowship.
